You Don’t Have to See the Whole Staircase

A few weeks ago, I wrote an article titled What Would You Attempt To Do If You Knew You Could Not Fail? which hit home for many.

“What would I attempt to do if I knew I couldn’t fail?” People asked themselves then quickly shut it down.

Now, if it was as easy as rubbing a lamp and seeing a genie pop out most of us could shout three things we wanted without blinking.

I want to make 7-figures in my business this year!

Be in a happy, loving relationship!

Lose 10 pounds!

2-week vacation in Bali!

Land a 6-figure book deal!

When we think about what we want we can’t help but light up. We become giddy like a kid on Christmas jumping out of bed and racing to see what Santa brought.

When we think about what we want we feel excited, amazing and happy.

Then, without meaning to, many of us become doubtful we can have it, fearful we never will and overwhelmed with the steps it’ll take to get there.

If you’re into law of attraction you know it’s almost impossible to experience what you want when your dominant thoughts and words are centered around what you don’t want.

We have to create positive momentum by:

1. Keeping our attention on what we do want.

Talk about it. Think about it. Feel how wonderful it’ll be when you’re living it.

Meditate. Visualize. Believe you’re worthy.

Get so confident in knowing you’re going to experience it you can be ok with not knowing exactly how or when it’ll happen. You just know it will.

2. In the wise words of Martin Luther King, “Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”

A first step could be setting a start date on the calendar, connecting with someone who’s done it or investing in something or someone to guide and hold you accountable.

It could be searching the web for plane tickets (even if you’re not ready to go), buying a $10 domain name (even if you don’t have the funds to create a website) or committing to sitting down at your computer for 1-hour to write that book even if you only write one sentence.

Remember, the rule of five and how small steps lead to big wins in time.

3. Like Winston Churchill said, “When you’re going through hell, keep going.”

The road to anything we desire is rarely smooth 100% of the time.

If things get rough, if doubt creeps in, if you begin to wonder if you can be, do or have what you want, shake it off and return your attention to the good feelings of living it.

Keep going.

Remember, Elvis was fired from his first performance and told to go back to driving a truck, Oprah was told she wasn’t fit for TV and even Walt Disney was fired from a cartoonist job at a newspaper for lacking imagination.

Can you imagine if they’d given up?

Me neither.

Whether you want to make more money, lose weight, write a bestseller, be in love, travel or live wherever you want, surely other people have experienced it. So, why not you too?

Remember, you don’t have to see the whole staircase, or know exactly how things will unfold. But you do have to take the first step.

Love & Smiles,
